MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team opened its 2011-12 season with a resounding 76-29 win over UW-Manitowoc on Wednesday night at the Marauder Gym.
Paige Albrecht scored 17 points, Ashley Pongratz had 16 points and nine rebounds, Dezeray Person added 12 points and Karlee Rosentreter had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Marauders.
UW-Marshfield/Wood County will be in action again, along with the men’s team, at the UW-Fond du Lac Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
