Marshfield graduate Danielle Carlson continues great season for Marquette University volleyball

MILWAUKEE – Marshfield High School graduate Danielle Carlson continued her strong junior season on the Marquette University volleyball team in a pair of matches over the weekend.

Marquette dropped its first two Big East matches of the season, losing at Cincinnati 3-1 (25-13, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17) on Saturday and at Louisville 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) on Sunday to fall into a second-place tie with Cincinnati at 10-2. Louisville takes over sole possession of the Big East lead at 11-1.

Carlson had 10 kills against Cincinnati and seven vs. Louisville to give her 294 in 28 matches this season, which ranks third on the Golden Eagles.

Her kill percentage of 0.390 is first on the team and her serve percentage of 0.954 is second.

Marquette (20-8 overall) hosts Notre Dame on Friday, Nov. 11 and De Paul on Sunday, Nov. 13 in its final two Big East matches of the regular season. Marquette also hosts the Big East Tournament from Nov. 18-20 at the Al McGuire Center before finishing its regular season with a nonconference match Nov. 26 at Northern Illinois.
