The Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association announced its all-state team on Monday.
Spencer senior Courtney Schulz and Marshfield junior Tiffany Stargardt were named as honorable mention selections on the team.
Schulz, who surpassed 1,000 kills in her career during the playoffs, led the Rockets to their first WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament appearance since 1974 as Spencer finished second in Division 3.
Stargardt, a unanimous first-team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference pick, helped the Tigers to a Division 1 sectional berth after playoff wins over Menomonie and Rhinelander. Marshfield lost to Eau Claire North in a Division 1 sectional semifinal.
Schulz, Dani Johnson and Tara Matter also earned accolades on the WisSports.Net and WVCA All-State Tournament Teams.
Schulz was a second-team selection and Johnson and Matter were honorable mention choices on the WisSports.Net team, and all three were named to the six-person Division 3 all-tournament team by the WVCA.
