HUDSON – The Marshfield boys swimming team was shutout of the state tournament on Saturady at the WIAA Division 1 sectional at Hudson High School.
The winner of each event and the next 18 top times statewide at Saturday’s sectionals automatically qualified for next Saturday’s WIAA Division 1 State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison.
The Tigers’ top finish came from Aaron Scheets in the 100 backstroke. He finished sixth with a time of 1:01.60. Marshfield teammate Thomas Stevning-Roe was ninth in 1:02.68.
Ade Dillon and Peder Kling had Marshfield’s only other individual top-10 finishes. Dillon took eighth in the 100 butterfly in 59.11 seconds, and Kling was 10th in the 200 freestyle in 1:57.94 and the 100 freestyle in 53.01.
