MARSHFIELD – Elena Deets, the daughter of Tim and Cheryl Deets of Marshfield and a student at Grant Elementary School, completed her gymnastics Level 6 Compulsory season with a third-place finish in the 10-year-old all-around competition at the 2011 Wisconsin State Compulsory Gymnastics Championships on Dec. 3-4 at West Allis Central High School.
Elena competes with the Oshkosh Gymnastics Center team and is coached by Trisha Geddes and gym owners Phyllis and Dale Hardt.
Elena’s top personal scores during the Level 6 season were 9.150 in the vault, 8.525 in the bars, 9.375 in the beam, 9.250 in the floor exercise and 36.225 in the all-around.
Elena will compete in the Level 7 competitions starting in January with meets in Wisconsin and Illinois.
