UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team rolls past Fond du Lac in Marauder Classic opener

MARSHFIELD – Jesse Bejcek scored 20 points and hauled down 14 rebounds to lead the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team to an 82-59 win over UW-Fond du Lac on Friday night in a first-round game of the Marauder Classic.

Jake Scheppler added 14 points, Brandon Herr had 13 and Leo Braun scored 12 for the Marauders (7-5).

Marshfield opened up a double-digit lead in the first half, leading 39-29 at the break, and cruised to the win by dominating the second half 43-30.

Marshfield will play Fox Valley Technical College, a 66-47 win over UW-Washington County on Friday, in the tournament championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. Washington County and Fond du Lac will play in the consolation game at 1 p.m.

Demetrius Brazzel scored 19 points and Aaron Hanson had 18 for Fox Valley Tech in its victory.
