MARSHFIELD – Jake Scheppler scored 21 points and hauled down 10 rebounds, and Jesse Bejcek had 13 points and a whopping 22 rebounds as the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team defeated Fox Valley Technical College 68-52 in the championship game of the Marauder Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Herr added 10 points for the Marauders, who improve to 8-5 after posting back-to-back wins in the tournament.
Demetrius Brazzel had 17 points for Fox Valley Tech.
Marshfield jumped out early, pushing ahead to a 36-21 lead at halftime.
UW-Washington County beat UW-Fond du Lac 73-65 in the consolation game.
The Marauders play at UW-Rock County next Saturday.
