Auburndale boys basketball downs Edgar, wins 15th straight

EDGAR – The Auburndale boys basketball team just keeps on rolling.

The Apaches won their 15th straight game to start the season, blasting Edgar 52-39 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Thursday night at Edgar High School.

All but two of Auburndale’s wins this season have come by double digits.

Austin Hawkins scored 25 points and had six rebounds, and Markus Kleifgen added 13 points and seven boards for the Apaches.

The Apaches, ranked third in this week’s WisSports.Net State Coaches Poll, improve to 15-0 and 9-0 in the Marawood South. Edgar falls to 5-9 and 3-6 in the conference.

Auburndale plays at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.
