Strong second quarter lifts Columbus Catholic girls basketball team past Granton

MARSHFIELD – Elizabeth Manlick scored 10 of her game-high 19 points during a 13-2 run in the second quarter to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 44-21 rout of Granton in a nonconference game Friday at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus (6-13) led 11-8 after one quarter before opening up a big lead with a 13-2 advantage in the second quarter. The Dons finished it off with a 17-6 third quarter to open up a commanding 41-16 lead.

Hannah Kruse added eight points and nine Dons scored in all.

Columbus is off until next Friday when it plays at Loyal.
