Stratford girls basketball team drops road game at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – For the second time this season, the Stratford girls basketball team gave Wisconsin Rapids Assumption a run for its money, but the Tigers came up short again, dropping a Marawood Conference South Division game 49-42 on Tuesday night.

Stratford lost for the fourth time in its last six games and falls to 11-9 overall and 5-8 in the Marawood South. Assumption keeps its conference title hopes alive with the win, improving to 20-1 overall and 12-1 in the Marawood South.

The Royals host first-place Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday as they try to gain a share of the conference championship.

Stratford finishes its Marawood South schedule at Auburndale on Thursday.
