MARSHFIELD – Samuel Mitchell, a fifth grader at Nasonville Elementary School, earned All-American honors in back-to-back tournaments with top performances at a pair of a national youth wrestling tournaments.
Mitchell placed fifth in his division at the USA National Folkstyle Tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa, two weeks ago, and took second this past weekend at the Brute Nationals Classic 2012 in Kansas City, Mo.
Mitchell will participate with Team Illinois at the AAU National Elementary Dual Tournament in Kingston, Tenn. A total of 32 teams from across the country will compete for the national team title.
