Colby knocks off Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball in Cloverbelt East opener

COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team opened its season with a 9-3 loss to Colby on Tuesday at Colby High School.

Colby led 7-0 after three innings and held on despite 13 walks from pitcher Goodwin. She did strike out 15 and allowed just one hit to the Dons.

Katleyn Welsh took the loss for Columbus, allowing eight hits and seven walks, while striking out five.

Columbus hosts Gilman on Thursday.
