Two Neillsville pitchers combine for no-hitter of Columbus Catholic softball

NEILLSVILLE – Courtney Poeschel and Ashley Friemoth combined on a five-inning no-hitter as Neillsville shut down Marshfield Columbus Catholic 15-1 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Friday at Neillsville High School.

Both Neillsville pitchers struck out four, with the Dons grabbing their only run in the third thanks to a walk and an error.

Katelyn Welsh took the loss for Columbus (0-3 overall and Cloverbelt East), giving up 13 hits and three walks.

Columbus hosts Greenwood on Tuesday.
