Columbus Catholic baseball loses on road to Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – Neillsville’s Neal Matson limited Marshfield Columbus Catholic to one run and five hits as the Warriors won a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game 7-1 on Friday at Neillsville High School.

Neillsville scored two runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings to pull away from the Dons (1-2 overall and Cloverbelt East).

Andy Schutz had two hits and Brandon Nikolai stroked a double for the Dons.

Columbus returns to action Saturday with a nonconference doubleheader at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
