Marshfield Chaparrals whip Minocqua in season finale

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team wrapped up its season with a 12-1 rout of the Minocqua Wood Ducks on Friday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The Chaparrals finish the season with an 18-6 record.

Jake Long struck out eight and allowed just one run and five hits in six innings to earn the win for Marshfield. Ryan Williams tossed two shutout innings and Gunnar Smith finished up on the mound by throwing a scoreless ninth inning.

Williams, Josh Barnes and Bobby Gregorich each had three hits for Marshfield, and Chuck Brehm had a double and two RBIs for the Chaps.
