Columbus Catholic girls tennis drops GNC opener at Antigo

ANTIGO – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls tennis team won just one match and dropped its Great Northern Conference season opener to Antigo 6-1 on Thursday at Antigo High School.

Elizabeth Manlick rolled over Ashley Reimer 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles for Columbus’ lone victory.

The Dons’ No. 1 doubles team of Rebecca Lamermayer and Maria Garcia lost 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, posting the only other set win for Columbus. Antigo won the other five matches in straight sets and lost just two total games in the No. 2-4 singles matches.

The Dons host the Columbus Catholic Invitational on Saturday at the Oak Street and Boson Courts starting at 9 a.m.
