Columbus Catholic girls tennis edges Phillips

PHILLIPS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls tennis team swept the three doubles matches and snuck out of Phillips with a 4-3 win over the Loggers in a Great Northern Conference match Tuesday.

Columbus Catholic’s doubles team of Rebecca Lamermayer and Maria Garcia at No. 1, Nettie Kaiser and Katelyn Welsh at No. 2 and Lauren Derfus and Lindsey Schultz at No. 3 each won their matches.

Elizabeth Manlick added a win at No. 1 singles for the Dons, who improve to 1-1 in the Great Northern.

The Dons host Lakeland at Boson Courts at 4 p.m. Thursday.
