Marshfield girls tennis finishes 2-1 at home Marshfield Invitational

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls tennis team went 2-1 at its own Marshfield Invitational on Tuesday at Boson Courts.

Marshfield defeated Menomonie 6-1, lost to La Crosse Central 4-3, and beat D.C. Everest 6-1 to end the tournament with a 2-1 record.

Martha Kupfer won all three of her matches, playing two at No. 3 singles and one at No. 4, and the No. 3 doubles team of Emily Seidel and Olivia Haessly also went a perfect 3-0 for the Tigers.

Nadeen Lieberman won a pair of matches at No. 1 singles and Marshfield’s other two doubles teams also had two victories – Erin Ott and Cami Warner at No. 1 and Emily Serchen and Taylor Hardinger at No. 2.

Marshfield is back in action on Aug. 30 when it hosts Stevens Point in its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet opener at 4 p.m.
