WAUSAU – Marshfield’s Nolan Redetzke continued his strong start to his season with an 11th-place finish at the 56th Annual Smiley Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at American Legion Golf Course.
Redetzke finished the Division 1 Large School boys race in 17:17 to help the Tigers to ninth place in the team standings.
Adrian Kaiser was 44th in 17:59 and Max Tibbett was 49th in 18:05 to grab top-50 spots for Marshfield.
The Marshfield girls also finished ninth in the team standings.
Rebecca Voss again topped the Tigers, taking 22nd in 16:25. Melissa Brix was 43rd in 17:00 and McKayla Scheuer finished 45th in 17:04.
Auburndale’s Luke Haas topped area boys by placing seventh in the Division 3 standings, running in 17:35.
Auburndale was seventh, Stratford 10th and Spencer ran with only four runners for an incomplete score in the Division 3 boys standings.
Donovan Fox took 35th in 18:56 for Spencer’s top finish, while Stratford was led by Phil Sersch, who was 53rd in 19:42.
Stratford’s Dani Bender was 21st (17:17), Auburndale’s Abby Bauer took 28th (17:30) and Spencer’s Samantah Fuehrer finished 64th (18:36.19) to lead area teams in the Division 3 girls standings.
Auburndale finished 12th, Stratford 13th and Spencer ran with an incomplete team.
