Sauk Prairie doubles up Marshfield boys hockey

TOMAH – Zach Leggon and Cole Irish each scored twice for Marshfield, but a five-goal second period by Sauk Prairie was too much to overcome as the Tigers lost 8-4 in their season opener at the Tomah Invitational on Friday night.

With the scored tied 2-2 after the first period, Sauk Prairie exploded for five goals in the second period to take control of the game.

Bobby Leggon had three assists, Zach Leggon added one and Nelson Spindler had another for Marshfield.

Jacob Free and Luke McElhenie each had four goals for the Eagles. McElhenie and Ryan Fitzsimmons each had three assists.

Marshfield plays again the tournament on Saturday.
