Marshfield boys hockey shuts out Rhinelander

RHINELANDER – Zach Leggon netted a hat trick to lead the Marshfield boys hockey team to a dominating 6-0 nonconference win over Rhinelander on Tuesday night at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.

Leggon scored a goal 3:30 into the game and added two more in the third to lift the Tigers, who improve to 2-1.

Cole Irish added a goal late in the first period, Andy Wittman scored in the second and Bobby Leggon finished up the scoring for the Tigers with a goal with just 4 seconds remaining in the game.

Nelson Spindler had two assists and Bobby Leggon, Irish, J.T. Twardowski and Nate Borchardt added assists for Marshfield.

Scott Berg had 15 saves in goal for the Tigers.

Marshfield hosts Tomahawk in its home opener Thursday.
