Marshfield graduate Taylor Varsho continues freshman season on Colorado St. women’s basketball team

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Marshfield High School graduate Taylor Varsho grabbed three rebounds and did not score in Colorado State’s 56-54 win over Cal State-Bakersfield on Sunday.

Varsho, a freshman on the Colorado State women’s basketball team, has played in all nine games for the Rams this season, starting five. She has scored 40 points and grabbed 34 rebounds, averaging 18.8 minutes per game. Varsho is shooting 72 percent from the free-throw line (16 of 22) and has made four 3-pointers and has six assists.

The win Sunday ended a five-game losing streak by the Rams, who improve to 3-6 overall.

Colorado State returns to action at the Fordham Holiday Classic in Bronx, N.Y., on Dec. 29 against Providence. Fordham and Lafayette play in the other semifinal of the tournament, with the winners and losers of the games playing each other on Dec. 30.
