Three Marshfield graduates on WIAC women’s indoor track and field honor roll

Three Marshfield High School graduates and former track and field standouts are currently ranked among the top eight in their respective events on the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll.

Jena Weigel is ranked No. 1 in the WIAC in the Pentathlon after setting a school record for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Wartburg College Select Meet on Friday and Saturday. Weigel, a senior, totaled 3,335 points to win the event. She is also ranked eighth in the conference in the long jump (5.29 meters).

Kelsey Weigel, a junior who competes at UW-Eau Claire, is ranked third in the Pentathlon. She totaled 3,070 points the Pointer Invitational in Stevens Point last Saturday.

Michelle Theisen, a junior at UW-Stout, is ranked fifth in the women’s weight throw (16.02 meters) and eighth in the shot put (12.59 meters) in the WIAC.

The three will compete at the WIAC Indoor Conference Meet on Feb. 22-23 at UW-Stevens Point.
