Undefeated Wisconsin Rapids Assumption handles Stratford girls basketball

STRATFORD – The undefeated Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball team proved too much for Stratford as the Royal rolled to a 63-39 win on Tuesday at Stratford High School.

Mary Sigler poured in 30 points and had nine steals in the win for Assumption (17-0, 10-0 Marawood Conference South Division). She made 12 of 14 shots from the field and all six of her free throw attempts.

Overall, Assumption shot 54 percent from the field (24 of 44) and was 15 of 19 at the free throw line.

Stratford (8-8, 2-8 Marawood South) fell behind 31-18 at halftime and the Royals put the game away with an 18-9 third quarter.

Brooke Schultze had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers.

Stratford hosts Auburndale on Friday.
