Marshfield Tiger Hoops Club seventh grade boys basketball team competes at state tournament

LA CROSSE – The Marshfield Tiger Hoops Club seventh grade boys basketball team competed in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament on March 16-17.

The tournament, organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, had 89 teams competing in four divisions.

Marshfield finished 28th in the Division 1 field.

Marshfield lost all three games in pool play: 60-23 to Janesville Craig, 43-38 to Appleton North, and 61-37 to Middleton.

In the 25th-28th place round robin bracket, Marshfield went 1-2. Brookfield East defeated Marshfield 55-28 before Marshfield grabbed its first win of the tournament with a 36-35 victory over D.C. Everest. Marshfield lost its final game to Appleton East 48-41.

Franklin won the Division 1 championship, defeating Bay Port 43-37.

The Marshfield team is coached by Brian Fravert and Todd Leonhardt.
