WAUSAU – The Marshfield softball team was one out away from its first win of the season, but Wausau West’s Mikayla Kramer changed all of that.

Marshfield led 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning when Liz Meier doubled and Kramer followed with a two-run home run to tie the score.

The Warriors won it in the eighth when Sara Hillery knocked in the winning run with a single.

Marshfield scored all five of its runs in the fifth to erase a 2-0 deficit. The Warriors responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth before rallying to win it.

The Tigers fall to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. West moves to 2-3 and 1-2 in the conference.

Marshfield is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Wausau East on Thursday.
