Wisconsin Rapids wins slugfest over Marshfield baseball

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield baseball team ended its regular-season schedule in a slugfest Thursday, dropping a 15-14 decision to Wisconsin Rapids at Witter Field.

The Tigers finish the regular season with an 11-10 record and a 5-7 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, good enough for fourth-place. Wisconsin Rapids also wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 10-9 mark and a 4-8 record in the Valley.

Marshfield hosts either Menomonie or Eau Claire North in a WIAA Division 1 regional final on Thursday, May 30. The game will start at 5 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
