Columbus Catholic boys soccer routs Wisconsin Valley Lutheran

MARSHFIELD – Sean McCarthy and Alexander Hutchison each netted a hat trick to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys soccer team to its third straight victory in the Mid-State Soccer Conference as it blasted Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 10-0 on Tuesday at Griese Park.

McCarthy and Hutchison each had three goals, Will Atkinson added two and Hannah Stratman and David Schlinsog both scored a goal in the Dons’ rout.

Columbus improves to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-State Soccer Conference, while Wisconsin Valley Lutheran drops to 0-2 in the conference.

Stratman added three assists, Jared Fleischmann had two and Farid Torbey, Schlinsog and Ryan Dieringer each added one for Columbus.

Evan Hansen saved all three shots in goal for the Dons.

Columbus hosts Mauston in a nonconference game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park.
