MARSHFIELD – Three Marshfield swimmers won a pair of events and the Tigers took first in all but one event to defeat Merrill 104-66 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swim meet Thursday at Marshfield High School.
Sarah Claessens won the 200 and 500 freestyles, Anna Hilbelink took first in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, and Elizabeth Holbrook won the 100 free and 100 breaststroke for the Tigers.
Also posting wins for Marshfield were Karen Scheuer in the 100 backstroke, Walker Guzowski in the 50 freestyle, the 200 medley relay team of Charlotte Urban, Holbrook, Hilbelink and Guzowski, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Guzowski, Maggie Huettl, Hilbelink and Claessens.
Marshfield hits the road Saturday and will participate in the Chippewa Falls Invitational.
