First-place Spencer volleyball rips Gilman

SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team continued its roll through the Cloverbelt Conference East Division, pounding Gilman 3-0 on Tuesday at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won 25-13, 25-19, 25-13 to improve to 6-0 in the conference (23-3 overall). Gilman falls to 0-5.

Macie Weber had 11 kills, Marisa Johnson added 10 and Brooke Kettleborough had 22 assists to lead the Spencer offense. Weber and Lindsey Vaughan each had three service aces.

Weber had four blocks, and Vaughan had 21 digs and Johnson 14 defensively for the Rockets.

“It was a great night to show our support for our friend Amanda Pupp…she is battling cancer and we played a fun match for her tonight.” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We won and helped raise funds for her care. The girls were so excited to honor her tonight.”

Spencer plays Loyal/Granton at Loyal on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
