Columbus Catholic volleyball drops home finale to Neillsville

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team won the opening game but couldn’t hold off a comeback from Neillsville and dropped a Cloverbelt Conference East Division match 3-1 on Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Warriors won the match 9-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-13.

Neillsville improves to 6-1 in the conference, while the Dons drop to 3-4. Columbus finishes its Cloverbelt East schedule Thursday at Colby.

Hannah Kruse had nine kills, Paige Thornton had 17 digs and Katie Weister added 16 digs for Columbus.

Setter Tara Brock had 18 assists for Columbus.
