OWEN – Jeremy Binder finished 18th and Sam Studinger was 19th to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys to a fourth-place finish at the 2013 Cloverbelt Conference Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Owen-Withee High School.
Binder and Studinger each finished in 17:08 to pace the Dons (159 points). Colby/Abbotsford (44) edged Chippewa Falls McDonell (47) for the boys team title.
Ben Behling added a 27th-place finish for the Dons in 17:36.
Donovan Fox was 26th (17:32) to lead Spencer, which finished 12th out of the 13 complete teams competing.
Chippewa Falls McDonell’s Nick Zander (15:17.48) edged teammate Grant Pulver (15:18.46) by 1 seconds to win the boys individual title.
Fall Creek won the girls title with 51 points, six ahead of second-place Eau Claire Regis.
Spencer was eighth with 201 points, led by Paige Lawrence, who was 28th in 17:57.91.
Columbus Catholic only had three girls runners, all of which finished between 44th and 50th. Freshman Hannah Gruofski led the Dons, taking 44th in 18:58.07.
Osseo-Fairchild’s Megan Skoyen (15:57.57) won the girls individual conference title in a close race, beating Eileen Endres of Eau Claire Regis by 1.38 seconds.
