Marshfield senior Matt McCann was a unanimous first-team selection and was named Player of the Year as the 2013 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Soccer Team was announced recently.
McCann led the conference with 12 goals and 25 points (one assist) during conference play this season, helping Marshfield to its first-ever outright WVC championship.
Joining McCann on the first team was fellow Marshfield senior Austin Gilbert, who also was a unanimous selection.
Gilbert had five goals and five assists to rank tied for fifth in the conference in points with 15.
Wausau East seniors Zang Chang and Evan Sorenson, Wausau West junior Taylor Penn and Wisconisn Rapids senior Keegan Crowley also were unanimous picks to the first team.
Marshfield juniors Jake Limmex and Ryan Hayes were named to the second team, and senior goalkeeper Matt Brown, senior Camilo Mesa and junior Alex Sainterme were honorable mention choices.
