Marshfield girls hockey drops home game to Northern Edge

MARSHFIELD – Lauren Smith scored a pair of second-period goals and Katie Detert had three assists as Northern Edge knocked off Marshfield 4-1 in a Great Northern Conference girls hockey game Tuesday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Recreation Arena.

Morgan Larson scored Marshfield’s only goal, on an assist from Nell Eichten, in the second period.

Alexis Straughan had 23 saves for the Tigers, who fall to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the Great Northern Conference.

Northern Edge (Antigo/Rhinelander co-op) remains unbeaten in the GNC at 4-0 and improves to 5-3 overall.

Marshfield plays at Stoughton on Friday.
