Auburndale wrestling edges Pittsville

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale won both of the matches that were contested and edged Pittsville 39-36 in a Marawood Conference wrestling match Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

Both teams came into the match short-handed, leaving 12 matches uncontested. Pittsville won six matches by forfeit, while Auburndale won five. Another was a double-forfeit.

Winning for the Apaches were Aaron Willfahrt at 126 pounds and Jalen Schwanebeck at 182. Schwanebeck won by pin.

Auburndale is now 3-0 in Marawood dual matches this season.

The Apaches will compete at the Bi-State Tournament on Dec. 27-28 at La Crosse.
