Marshfield wrestling team beats D.C. Everest for first WVC victory of season

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won nine matches including two by pin and three by forfeit in a 42-24 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference wrestling dual Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Tristan Wilson won with a first-period pin and Mitch Hertel had a pin in the third period of his match to help lift the Tigers to their first WVC win of the season, improving to 1-2.

Also winning matches for Marshfield were Anthony Christmas, Luke Mahoney, Tyler Manthe and Jeremy Brost. Josh Lang, Phil Maguire and Cesar Ortega won by forfeit for the Tigers.

Marshfield will compete at the Richland Center Invitational on Saturday.
