Spencer girls basketball falls at Greenwood

GREENWOOD – Spencer was held to seven first-half points and just 33 percent shooting for the game as it dropped a 49-35 decision to Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Monday night at Greenwood High School.

Greenwood led 24-7 at halftime and held on to the double-digit lead in the second half.

Kassandra Humke had 13 points to lead Greenwood (9-11, 8-9 Cloverbelt East). The Indians made 16 of 29 free throws, while Spencer was only 7 of 18

Sydney Kind had 15 points for the Rockets (5-15, 3-14 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer wraps up its Cloverbelt East season Tuesday at home against Neillsville. The game will begin at 4:30 p.m. and is a make-up for a game postponed due to inclement weather last Friday. The Spencer boys will host a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal against Wabeno/Laona at 7 p.m.
