Stratford boys basketball upsets Crivitz in WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal

CRIVITZ – The Stratford boys basketball team blasted Crivitz on the road Tuesday night, rolling to a 57-35 victory in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal.

The Tigers (8-11), the No. 10 seed, will play at No. 2 Stevens Point Pacelli (19-2) in a Division 4 regional semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday.

Crivitz, the No. 7 seed, ends its season with a 15-8 record.

Five different Tigers scored at least eight points. Jake Reif led the way with 17 points and also added five steals, Michael Bargender had 10 points and four steals, Eli Temanson had nine points, six steals, five rebounds and four assists, and Jeremiah Hubing also scored nine points for Stratford.

The Tigers pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Crivitz 21-5 to take a 31-13 halftime lead.
