Marshfield’s Olivia Tierney finishes seventh in floor exercise at 2014 WIAA State Gymnastics Meet

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield junior Olivia Tierney finished seventh in the floor exercise during Division 1 competition at the 2014 WIAA State Gymnastics Meet at Lincoln High School on Saturday.

Tierney had a score of 9.367 to finish seventh, two points off the top performer, Sam Balcerak of Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall.

Tierney finished 14th in the event at last year’s state meet with a score of 9.017.

Other event winners in the Division 1 meet were Molly Benavides of Burlington/Lake Geneva Badger/Catholic Central/Wilmot in the balance beam (9.617) and the vault (9.617), and Jenna Fitzpatrick of BBCW and Amanda Pennow of Brookfield East/Central, who tied for first in the uneven bars (9.633).

Jorin Fredman of Hartland Arrowhead won the all-around competition with a score of 38.217, with Benavides taking second with a score of 38.034.
