Athens junior point guard Kyncaide Diedrich has been voted as the WDLB-WOSQ Radio/MarshfieldAreaSports.com February High School Athlete of the Month.
Voting concluded Friday night with Diedrich accounting for 71 percent of the nearly 1,700 votes cast.
Diedrich averages 16 points per game for the Bluejays, who won the Marawood Conference North Division and have moved into the WIAA Division 4 sectionals after beating Phillips in a regional final on Saturday.
Other nominees for the February award were Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball player Jared Fleischmann, Owen-Withee boys basketball player Albert Goerlitz, Marshfield girls hockey player Morgan Larson, Stratford wrestler Dondrick Tackes and Marshfield boys basketball player Luke Zuiker.
