Mosinee stifles Spencer softball

MOSINEE – Mosinee’s Rochelle Koshalek struck out 16 and allowed just one hit as the Indians shutout Spencer 2-0 in a nonconference softball game Friday to end the regular season for both teams.

Brooke Kettleborough had a double for Spencer’s only hit of the game.

Mosinee scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning against Spencer pitcher Macie Weber, who scattered nine hits and struck out four.

Spencer ends its regular season with a 15-6 record. The Rockets host Stratford in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Spencer High School.

Mosinee is now 22-2 and will host Tomahawk in a Division 2 regional semifinal Tuesday.
