Marshfield senior Daulton Varsho was a unanimous first-team selection at catcher and was named the Player of the Year as the 2014 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Baseball Team has been announced.
Varsho was one of six unanimous first-team picks and the lone Tigers player selected to the first team.
Merrill infielder Ty Grunenwald and Stevens Point outfielder Jon Barnes, pitchers Cal Giese and Austin Schulfer, and utility player Mitch Mallek – all seniors – were the other unanimous first-team picks.
Marshfield junior outfielder Caleb Alexander and junior pitcher Jack Donahue were named to the second team.
The Tigers had two honorable mention selections as well – sophomore infielder Trevor Schwecke and junior infielder Sam Klein.
