Stratford senior Liz Krum and sophomore Casey Kolbeck were both named to the first team of the 2014 All-Marawood Conference South Division softball team, as voted on by conference coaches.
Krum, a senior pitcher, was one of five players unanimously chosen to the first team. She hit .356 with one home run and 11 RBIs, and went 6-4 with a 1.38 ERA pitching, with 68 strikeouts and just 13 walks, in 60 2/3 innings.
Kolbeck batted a team-best .571 in conference play (20 of 35) with 13 RBIs and scored a team-high 16 runs.
Wisconsin Rapids Assumption seniors Genny Fuller and Brittney Birkhauser, Marathon sophomore Emily Kind and junior Bailey Seubert, and Wausau Newman Catholic freshman Lauren Fech were also unanimous first-team picks.
Kind was named South Division Player of the Year after batting .776 (38 of 49) with 13 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
Stratford also had three second-team picks – senior Tanna Wirkus, junior Dallas Adams and freshman Brittney Bredemann.
Auubrndale seniors Kendra Kundinger and Sabrina Mitchell, and Stratford sophomores Kaylee Geiger and Lorrie Luepke were honorable mention selections.
Marathon coach Chad Thurs was named as the Coach of the Year.
