Six Marshfield grads compete at women’s track meet

WINONA, Minn. – Six Marshfield High School graduates participated in the St. Mary’s Invitational women’s college track and field meet on Saturday.

Teri Heinzen is a senior at St. Mary’s College, and competed against former teammates Jenna Southworth, Stephanie Smith and Amy Pawelko of Winona State, Jena Weigel of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Mallory Langfeldt of UW-Stout.

Heinzen won the 100 (13.18) and 200 meters (25.98) for St. Mary’s.

Pawelko was 17th in the 1,500 (5:14.79).

Smith was fifth (18:35.13) and Southworth was sixth (19:00.74) in the 5,000.

Weigel tied for eighth in the high jump (1.43 meters).

Langfeldt didn’t qualify for the finals in the discus (31.84 meters), shot put (10.26) or the hammer throw (36.4).
