STRATFORD – The Stratford STAR Men’s Basketball League playoffs began Sunday with six games in two divisions.
Here is a look at Round 1 of the playoffs:
A Division
*Sixth-seeded Smazal’s Hunters Choice routed No. 3 A&B Process Systems 101-78. Brian Bartnik led Smazal’s with 21 points. Nate Lehman had 28 points for A&B.
*No. 2 Rose Bowl got 27 points from Cain Trunkel and defeated No. 7 Victory Apparel 91-76.
*No. 5 USBancorp edged No. 4 Marawood Construction 88-83. Chris Newburry had 22 points for USBancorp.
B Division
*No. 2 Marshfield Country Club knocked off No. 7 Country Wireless 83-72. Mike Pankratz topped MCC with 34 points. Zach Radue had 27 points for Country Wireless.
*Fourth-seeded The Shack got past No. 5 Davis Auto 69-68 in overtime. Ryan Bloom led The Shack with 20 points. Kyle Davis had 22 points for Davis Auto.
*No. 3 Arby’s also won in overtime, beating No. 6 BSI Stainless 67-63. Mack Scheppler had 32 points for Arby’s.
