Auburndale softball rips Edgar

AUBURNDALE – Jenna Ertl had a double and a triple, scored twice and knocked in three runs to lift the Auburndale softball team to an 11-1 rout of Edgar in a nonconference game Monday at Auburndale High School.

Edgar led 1-0 before Auburndale erupted for seven runs in the third inning to pull ahead. The Apaches finished it off with a run in the sixth, ending the game via the 10-run rule.

Shannon Yahnke and Brooke Anderson each added a pair of singles, and Anderson and Rachael Bolder both had two RBIs for Auburndale (2-4).

Robyn Brokish earned the win, giving up just two hits and one walk in six innings. She struck out five.

Auburndale hosts Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.
