MOSINEE – The Stratford football team opened its season with a hard-fought 21-14 win over Mosinee in a nonconference matchup Friday at Mosinee High School.
Taylor Krall had 140 yards rushing, including a 38-yard touchdown, and Kam Bornbach added 69 yards on the ground and two scores for the Tigers.
Stratford never trailed, jumping out to a 14-0 lead after Bornbach’s two scores in the second and third quarters. Krall added his TD in the fourth that gave the Tigers a 21-7 lead.
Stratford finished with 314 yards rushing and held Mosinee to minus-12 yards on the ground.
Landon Stepan threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns for Mosinee.
The Tigers (1-0) will host Colby (0-1) in another nonconference game Aug. 28 at Tiger Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
