Spencer/Columbus has 14 on 2015 All-Cloverbelt Conference Football Team

After rolling through an undefeated season in conference play, Spencer/Columbus Catholic reaped the rewards with eight first-team selections to the 2015 All-Cloverbelt Conference Football Team, which was voted on by the conference coaches.

The Rockets, who went 7-0 to win their first-ever Cloverbelt championship, also had three second-team picks and three honorable mention selections.

Sophomore running back Hunter Luepke was one of the first-team picks for the Rockets and was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year.

Joining him on the first team were junior running back Noah Zastrow, junior offensive lineman Max Johnson, senior offensive lineman Elijah Welsh, senior defensive lineman Dakota Andreae, senior linebacker Hunter Hildebrandt, and senior defensive backs Calvin Lenz and Austin Post.

Head coach Jason Gorst was named Coach of the Year and defensive coordinator Todd Hildebrandt was picked as the Assistant Coach of the Year.

Second-team picks for the Rockets were receiver Ryan Busse, offensive lineman Brett Loveland, and senior defensive lineman Ryan Schauer.

Running back Jonny Tomke, defensive back Tim Bauer and offensive lineman Aaron Zenner were honorable mention choices for Spencer/Columbus, which finished the season with a 13-1 overall record and was the runner-up in the WIAA Division 5 state championship game, losing to Amherst.
