MANITOWOC – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams split a pair of tight games at UW-Manitowoc on Monday.
The Marshfield women won 58-56 and the men lost 89-86.
Hayley Bunnell scored with 7 seconds left for the winning basket for the Marauders women.
Bunnell led the way with 17 points and Carrie Stroetz added 13 for the Marauders (4-1 overall and Wisconsin Collegiate Conference).
The Marauders women return to action Nov. 30 at home against UW-Fond du Lac.
The Marauders men fall to 1-4 overall with the nonconference loss. Marshfield’s game statistics were not provided.
Jemale Brown scored 30 points to lead Manitowoc (3-4).
The UW-M/WC men’s next game is Dec. 2 at home against UW-Richland, following the women’s contest.
