Columbus Catholic girls basketball loses at Owen-Withee

OWEN – Four Owen-Withee players scored in double figures and the Blackhawks pushed past Marshfield Columbus Catholic 65-45 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game on Dec. 17 at Owen-Withee High School.

Columbus shot just 31 percent (17 of 55), while Owen-Withee was at 32 percent (23 of 73), but the Blackhawks were able to force 23 turnovers to provide the extra chances that led to the win.

Whitney Baehr had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Megan Simington added 14 points for Owen-Withee (4-2, 3-2 Cloverbelt East).

Marissa Immerfall ahd 11 points and seven rebounds, and Morgan Albrecht added 10 points and six rebounds for the Dons (3-5, 1-3 Cloverbelt East), who played without starting guard Jess Trad.

Columbus Catholic hosts Neillsville on Tuesday.
